WHO ARE THE VALLARTA BOTANICAL GARDENS?
Nestled in the mountains south of Puerto Vallarta, the gardens are described as a “living museum,” where curated plant collections, forest trails, and river landscapes come together to create a rich, immersive experience.
What stands out most is this organization’s mission-driven focus. As a nonprofit, the gardens are dedicated to preserving the biodiversity of western Mexico, protecting ecosystems like the Los Horcones river basin, and contributing to global botanical research. This is not simply a place to admire beauty—it is an active force in environmental stewardship and sustainable regional development. Visitors are encourage to engage with nature in multiple ways, whether though hiking, learning about native species, or participating in educational programs. At the same time the gardens serve as a cultural bridge, highlighting both endemic and exotic plants alongside elements of Mexican heritage.
